# Beyond work

Outside of work, what moves me: running, diving, games, music, travel and technology.

## Hobbies

I'm a runner, a half-marathoner, and I treat running like everything else: with data. Strava and Garmin feed a system that tracks the progression over time. I'm a diver, for the silence and the attention it demands underwater, one of the few places where the brain has no choice but to stay present. Games and music are decompression and system study, you can learn a lot about design by watching how a good game teaches without a tutorial. Travel to step out of my own context and see how other people solve the same things in a different way.

The common thread is curiosity about human behavior and creative systems: how people collaborate, learn and build ambitious things together. Same curiosity as work, just without the badge. It's also why I love a good hangout: talking with no clock running, hearing someone's story all the way through, is where curiosity turns into a real relationship. It's no accident relationship shows up among my top strengths: I genuinely like people, and that makes for good conversation long before it becomes work.

## Off the clock I keep building

What I do at work leaks off it. I run a personal system of data and automation and I experiment with hardware and AI on the bench. I describe that in detail at `/ai/en/workflow`, because it is more workflow than hobby.

## Origin

Rooted in drawing and creating since I was a kid. Technical drawing of floor plans in India ink at 14, in an engineering office. Self-taught programming since 1998. The Maserati MC12 vector illustration came from the same patience: line, light, gradient, time. Craft before product. Today's eye was born there.

The same build-it-yourself instinct never left: I've built my own portfolio since 1999, no outsourcing. This site is the latest version of that, with the full story of how it was made at `/ai/en/workflow`.
